I dig Kacie Kinzer’s Tweenbots social experiment. She’s obviously seen an episode or two of ABC’s hidden camera experiment, What Would You Do. Her John Quinones idea was to see if random strangers in the park would help her little robot, which can only travel in a straight line, get from one end of the park to the other. To document the mission Kacie hit the park with a video camera hidden in her purse. I half expected some kid to run off with it or stomp on it or something like that. Of course a lot of people just ignored the thing. But surprisingly the mission was accomplished. Enough people actually helped the cardboard robot out when it got stuck in a pothole, up against a curb or under a park bench. One dude actually thought twice about sending the robot off in the “right” direction, because that direction would put the robot in danger—saying, “You can’t go that way, it’s toward the road.” Classic. Check out the video after the jump.

Hello, great website you have here. I genuinely enjoyed scanning your post. I noticed it today and soon found that it was very worthwhile, so it inspired me to drop a comment. I think there will be others who most likely think the same way about this subject. So, I’ll plan to come back when I make extra time to look at more. This is kinda weird, but I was just telling my friend regarding it, so this information was perfect. I will link to this site and get the RSS link also. Thanks and see you later.
