Made From Stuff Like Scotch Tape, Kraft Paper And Cardboard

If you happen to be going to Brussels sometime before June 6th, I’m sure Olivier Blanckart’s “Coming Home” show at the Aeroplastics gallery is a worth wild stop.  I just discovered his life-size sculptures depicting famous photographs and it’s crazy good. I like how they all look so exaggerated and the fact that he uses stuff like Scotch tape, kraft paper and cardboard to create. “The Remix Saigon” after Eddie Adams’ legendary photo of Vietnam’s Police Chief, Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Loan executing a Viet Cong solider is one of my favorites. Speaking of the immensely talented Marine photographer Eddie Adams, the new film An Unlikely Weapon has just started to get a limited release in theaters. Check out the trailer below.

Oh yea, Olivier Blanckart. I would tell you more about the guy, but sadly I don’t speak his website’s language. I’ll let his work do that. Enjoy…
