Today is a great day. Comedy Central announced today it’s bringing Futurama back from past cancellation for 26 new half-hour episodes. Nerds worldwide, rejoice! That means 26 more bouts of Bender’s shiny metal ass for your joyous lives! What’s odd about the life cycle of the show is that it’s been off the air for more than 6 years, and was only produced for 4 seasons…other than those 4 movies they came out with last year, of course.
Thankfully, the new episodes will be produced as before by Matt Groening and David X. Cohen, and are expected to air on Comedy Central beginning in mid-2010. Welcome back Zap, Fry, Bender et al!
