A couple weeks ago Ducati teased its next bike, the Diavel. Well today they officially unveiled the motorcycle to much consternating from Ducati purists. The bike is a large power cruiser, somewhat akin to the Harley V-Rod and Yamaha V-Max, which is a segment the Italian superbike maker has never ventured in. Considered by some to be a bike for dentists and retirees, the power cruiser is miles away from the nimble burners that have made Ducati famous, hence the distress. But as a sales option, venturing into this lucrative market makes sense for the Bologna-based manufacturer. Weighing only 456 lbs, the Diavel is considerably lighter than most power cruisers, and boasts 162 hps with 94lb/ft of torque, fully adjustable front and rear suspension, slipper clutch, 4-piston Brembo Monoblocs brakes with ABS, LED lights and an enormous 240 section rear tire. Two versions will be available, the standard and a Carbon version that sheds about 6 pounds.
