Today in Moscow Karl Lagerfeld unveiled the first few calender images from Italian tire giant Pirelli — whose limited edition creation has been one of the most coveted calenders by straight men everywhere since 1964. As is the case every year Pirelli commissions a new photographer to curate the calender, and this year Lagerfeld takes the reins over from 2010 lensman Terry Richardson’s much ogled edition. Lagerfeld chose to recreate Greek myths for 2011, selecting Julianne Moore to play Hera and a bevy of international models to round out the 36 pages of photographs. Models used include Italian models Bianca Balti and Elisa Sednaoui; Danish model Freja Beha Erichsen; Brazilian model Isabeli Fontana; Polish models Magdalena Frackowiak and Anja Rubik; and Australian model Abbey Lee Kershaw; Indian model Lakshmi Menon; American models Heidi Mount and Erin Wasson; Russian model Natasha Poly; Dutch model Lara Stone; Canadian model Daria Werbowy; Austrian model Iris Strubegger; and Jamaican model Jeneil Williams. There will surely be more images released in the coming weeks, but no reason not to start the leakage today.
