Giambattista Bodoni's influential font work

The Manual of Typography, from TASCHEN, follows the birth of a typeface that has greatly influenced the world of print and design — which sure may be a little geeky, but we kind of geek out on fonts. A recreation of Giambattista Bodoni’s Manuale Tipografico, originally printed in 1818, the manual follows the development of this influential font. Bodoni wore many hats, working as a publisher, printer and engraver, earning a high reputation for his typography designs in later years. Most famously his contribution of the Bodoni font, which is still widely used today. The manual includes the typeface in all arrangements, from bold and italic to alphabets from around the globe. This book is a must have for anyone who has dedicated themselves to create and design; for $70 you can have Bodoni’s decades of achievements.
