Canon's market leading point & shoot gets updated

Canon updates what many professionals feel is the best point & shoot camera on the market, the G12. Its brand new PowerShot G1 X plucks the 1.5-inch, 14.3-megapixel CMOS sensor from its DSLR line of cameras, which is 6.3 times larger than the G12 predecessor. The G1 X also combines EOS sensor technology with a DIGIC 5 processor, a new precision f/2.8 4x optical zoom lens (28 mm wide angle), ISO up to 12,800, RAW support, HDR shooting, full HD 1080p video recording, a 3″ movable LCD display and extensive manual control, “creating the finest compact camera Canon has ever produced,” according to dpreview. The Canon PowerShot G1 X Camera will hit markets next month at a cost of $800.
