Before mountain biking became the mainstream activity it is today, free spirited nature lovers hit the trails and spread the word about the adventurous and exhilarating sport. Those hippies were called Klunkerz back in the day, and today the namesake bags — which pay tribute to the cyclists of yesteryear via their their functional designs — are sold exclusively through Japanese label Porter by Yoshida. The exterior of the bags are made from 500D Cordura nylon with waterproof treatment on the outside and PU coating on the inside. Unlike other messenger bags, these can be closed by tightening the drawstring on the main compartment. Multiple zipped pockets exist on the cover flap, left and right sides, as well as a front compartment offering plenty of storage solutions for user’s needs. The Klunkerz Waterproof Messenger Bag is available in black or beige at Beams for under $410 (¥31,500), with delivery expected later this month.
