The French director Swedes Martin Scorcese's landmark film

Remember in Michel Gondry‘s 2008 film Be Kind, Rewind when Mos Def and Jack Black filmed super low budget versions of famous movies? Oh, you didn’t see it? Well fret not young cinephile, you didn’t miss much — it pretty much sucked. Despite dropping the ball on that film, director Gondry — best known for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind — has decided to go the same route in this 3-minute short and do a similar “Sweded” treatment of Martin Scorcese’s landmark Taxi Driver film. In this version, Gondry himself plays the titular character (aka Travis Bickle) immortalized by Robert De Niro, but does a hilarious take using very creative shortcuts to keep the special effects costs down. The idea didn’t work for a full length feature film, but it sure does for a quick short…
