210 HP VW revealing at Germany's Auto Mobil International Show

Take a long hard look at the vehicle above, savor its squat German beauty, because if you live in America you will never see it on your shores. Unfortunately for the States, VW considers the Scirocco too close a competition to its Audi A3 brethren, so they’ve decided to deny its awesomeness from American roads. This Scirocco GTS, built to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the landmark original Mark II Scirocco GTS, is powered by a 210 horsepower 2.0-liter turbo engine mated to the front wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox and an electronic differential lock. The powertrain is good for a 148 MPH top speed with a 0-62 MPH click of just 6.9 seconds. The exterior features a rear diffuser and roof spoiler borrowed from the more powerful Scirocco R, flared side skirts, body-color side moldings, a solid black racing stripe emphasized with parallel red stripes and 18″ Thunder alloy wheels with black trim. The side mirrors sport the same red accent color, which can also be found in the interior stitching. Among other interior features the Scirocco GTS brings back the golf ball shift knob, reminiscent of sports cars from the 70’s and 80’s. The GTS will make it’s debut June 2nd at the Auto Mobil International Show in Germany.
