Now Pirelli is continuing the tamed path with a very clothed version of their calender for 2013. Vanity Fair gets a first look at the ever exclusive calendar, shot by Steve McCurry, which for the first time ever will show a very pregnant model — but seeing as it’s Adriana Lima, she of the 5-hour flag-waving session, most people will forgive. McCurry, who is best known for his photojournalism, went the humanitarian route to give the Pirelli Calendar some social heft — dubbing it the “calendar of the soul”. The images portray 11 supermodel/protagonists involved in the support of foundations, NGOs and humanitarian projects. Is it as titillating as Ana Beatriz Barros licking a cock rooster, or watching a naked Russian supermodel getting splashed with milk? No, but it is infinitely more soulful.
