Only 888 horsepower from the twin-turbocharged V12

Spanish boutique coachbuilders Tramontana have already established themselves with their fine line of handbuilt supercars, highlighted by the topless Tramontana S and closed-roof Tramontana R models. Now they are ramping up the contest with their halo Tramontana XTR — a similarly mid-mounted burner clearly aimed at the racetrack. Powered by a Mercedes-Benz V12, the twin-turbocharged engine is tweaked to produce 888 horsepower (@ 5,850 rpm) and 678 lb-ft (920 Nm) of torque from 4,000 rpm. Improved with radical chassis modifications and an ultra-rapid competition gearbox, the XTR should easily outperform the previous R model which claimed a 0-62 mph time in 3.6 seconds with a 202 mph top speed. Although still in the rendering stage, only 12 of the highly exclusive Tramontana XTRs will be produced per year, at a cost of about $514,000 (£332,000).
