Today at the SEMA auto show in Las Vegas Chevrolet unveiled its Camaro “Hot Wheels” Edition — the first time any manufacturer has offered a full-size, production Hot Wheels car. Although no performance upgrades were announced, the Chevrolet Camaro “Hot Wheels” Edition will feature an exclusive graphics-accented metallic Kinetic Blue paint scheme and red-lined wheels — visual cues much like those found on many of the Hot Wheels cars you used to play with as a wee lad. The special run of the Camaro Hot Wheels Edition cars will actually be produced in the first quarter of 2013 in two trims, the V6 2LT model and the more potent 400 horsepower V8 2SS. They also feature parts from their ultra powerful ZL1 Camaro (rear spoiler and front upper grille), a Hot Wheels flame logo on the grille and decklid, and a black leather-trimmed interior accented with red and black seat stitching with the Hot Wheels logo embroidered on the front seats. If you want to get your hands on one of the Chevrolet Camaro “Hot Wheels” Editions, don’t sleep — like the collectable toys on which they’re based once they’re gone, they’re gone.
