World-renowned music photographer Lawrence Watson has captured some of the most legendary hip-hop artists alive. And dead. So, it’s no surprise that streetwear pioneers XLarge chose his iconic snapshots of Run-DMC, Public Enemy, and LL Cool J for their special capsule collection. The capsule is part of the brand’s larger “Golden Age of Hip-Hop” collection, a set of threads that will be released for upcoming 2012 Holiday. To give a dap up to the hip-hop legends from the late 80s and early 90s, and to the establishment of XLarge’s El Lay storefront in 1991, this series of short and long sleeve Tees display Watson’s most famous portrayals of Jam Master Jay, DMC, Rev Run, Chuck D, Flavor Flav, and of course the lady’s love James Todd Smith. Alongside the rest of the “Golden Age of Hip-Hop” designs, the entire capsule will soon be available at the Los Angeles flagship store and select stockists.
