Air Jordan 1 High & MELO M9s get the Chinese viper treatment

Just like everyone else in the sneaker game, Nike’s Jordan Brand is getting into Year Of the Dragon celebration. The Chinese just might be growing into an important market — you heard it here first, kids — so it’s hardly a mystery why top brands are climbing over each other to fully represent the celebration of their new lunar year. Taking inspiration from a snake’s sixth sense-like ability to detect body temperature and environmental changes in its prey, Jordan uses bright colors and materials to visualize the concept for its YOTS Collection. Both are vividly assembled, but the MELO M9’s colors (below) are a tad brighter than the Air Jordan 1 High (above), which barely qualify as being more restrained. Jordan Brand’s “Year of the Snake” 2013 Footwear Collection will hit stores on February 2, 2013.
