Well regarded Highlands distillery Glen Garioch offers a dated 1986 expression, a 25-year-old single malt scotch bottled back in 2011. That was when the distillery still peated a proportion of its malt, something which they no longer do once they temporarily shuttered their doors in the mid-1990’s. Matured exclusively in North American Oak, the end result is a single malt whisky with hints of spice, juicy fruits and a traditional old style Glen Garioch smokiness. Only 3000 bottles of the 109.2 proof small batch scotch will be produced, with 250 saved for U.S. markets. If you’re lucky you can find a bottle of Garioch’s 1986 Vintage Single Malt Scotch for around $235.
