Replicas of boots worn by Sir Edmund Hillary's main Sherpa

These beautifully crafted boots are manufactured Swiss label Bally to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Sir Edmund Hillary’s legendary climb of Mount Everest back in 1953. Interestingly the boots are not modeled after the shoes that Hillary wore, but rather are replicas of the ones worn by Hillary’s main Sherpa, a Nepalese man named Tenzing Norgay. The men’s Vincens alpine boots are crafted out of a rich brown leather with ankle strap, silver buckle and chunky vintage outsole. The most salient design element being the extended pad in a lighter, contrasting coffee brown that comes up out of the ankle. You’ll be able to find the Bally Vincens Boots starting today in boutiques across the Himalayas… and the rest of the world, as well.
