It’s not just members of Marvel’s elite roster that are getting their tentpole blockbuster films greenlit — a lesser known title from the Marvel Universe will also see its manifestation into film this summer with Guardians Of the Galaxy. Featuring one of the best under-the-radar characters in comics, Rocket Raccoon, Guardians Of the Galaxy tells the story of a band of inter-galactic misfits and space hooligans who must — get this — save the universe. Despite its lack of marquis superheroes or director (an untested James Gunn), the trailer actually looks quite promising with exceptional special effects and creature design. Guardians Of the Galaxy also stars a motley assemblage of talent including Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Vin Diesel, Zoe Saldana, Benicio Del Toro, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly and even Glenn Close taking a turn out of type as Commander Rael. Look out for it to hit theaters on August 1, 2014.
