The timeless tennis silhouette gets a remake in geometry

The Adidas Consortium has a new PLAY, a project involving top Asian designers doing re-interpreptations of the otherwise tried-and-true Stan Smith (you know, one of our favorite sneakers ever). This simple-but-retro shoe, is perhaps most often recognized for its basic design, perforated “three-stripe” sides, all-leather top, and standard rubber sole. But designer Shigeki Fujihima adds his own accent by threading the small side-holes with brightly colored string in geometric shapes. And so, simple stays simple — but fresh. Available at END for about $210 (£125).
