Freshjive has just released this tshirt as a tribute to Dennis Hopper who recently passed away at 74 years old. The image, taken by photographer Guy Webster, captures Hopper at his disheveled, sorta zoned out best. Rick Klotz, founder of Freshjive, gives his reasons for the homage:

“Originally making a mark in the 50s alongside James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause and Giant, he will always be remembered to me from the various colorful and unforgettable roles he played throughout his life: The photojournalist in Apocalypse Now, Frank Booth in Blue Velvet, the father in Rumble Fish, Clifford Worley in True Romance, Howard Payne in Speed, and countless others. He also directed the critically acclaimed Colors, and most notably, Easy Rider in 1969 which became the cinematic symbol of the 1960s, and which a film critic once noted that, “No other persona better signifies the lost idealism of the 1960s than that of Dennis Hopper.” Besides acting, Dennis was a prolific photographer, painter, and sculptor, while once known to be one of Hollywood’s most notorious drug addicts for 20 years.”

Sure you could pen an encyclopedic volume on the merits of Dennis Hopper (altho he did cash in more than a couple times, didn’t he? I mean, Mario Bros???), but sometimes something as simple as wearing a tribute tshirt will do…

These LOST-inspired tshirts from BBlessing have been around for a minute, but since the finale was Sunday and I’m still thinking about it made me want to put these up. I can’t really decide how I felt about the ending — I knew it would be a bit esoteric to allow room for interpretation and all, but I wasn’t 100% sold on it. Jack’s dead dad, Christian, tells him at the end that his time on the island and the people with him were the most important part of his life, so that’s why he’s with them in this afterlife. Well doesn’t that mean then that all that stuff on the island happened while he was alive? So does that knock the whole “island as limbo/purgatory” theory out of consideration? I dunno, makes your head spun a bit. But I digress. FarFetch has a handful of different designs from BBlessing designer Nicholas Kratochvil available, but the above “Another Life” lifted from Desmond’s signature refrain is definitely my favorite. Unlike the other LOST shirt that had more obvious references to the show, BBlessing’s homages are a little more subtle: the sheet music for The Beach Boys’ “Good Vibration”, the barely heard whispers. And of course Desmond’s catchphrase. I prefer the nuance. The light pink tee is made of soft cotton and features an off-white “Another Life” graphic on the front. What do you get when you mix one of the greatest albums of all time (and Rolling Stone‘s #1 album of the 80′s) with one of the best anime series of all time? Why, Gundam Calling of course. Sure this mobile suit may not be able to hold the bottom end down like Simonon, but I’m sure he could blast his way out of a jam pretty easily. Pick it up for $23.

It’s sort of a bittersweet time for most LOST fans, as tonight premiers the second to last episode of the fiercely cult show. I’ll admit I’m a fan, and especially this year as they’ve finally started wrapping up all the loose ends and are headed to a somewhat cogent ending (let’s hope, anyways). So to help celebrate the ending of the phenomenon pick up the 108 Objects from Flight 815 T-Shirt tee. Swedish super brand Acne has just released four new tshirts, available at Por Vocacao. As they say, “there shouldn’t be much difference between Good and Nice print t-shirts but, if ever in doubt, Acne has made both. Available in sun faded blueberry or grey melange, the Good t-shirt features a surrealistic hand print, has a somewhat long body, narrow sleeves and twisted right side seam. The Nice print has a wider neck, a comfortably cool, relaxed fit and come in off-white or greyish dark green. Depending on your mood, you can either choose a skull or a lone sitting bear.”

The human rights organization Humanade have collaborated with the late-great Malcolm Mclaren’s family to bring us the “CASH FROM CHAOS” Mclaren tribute shirt. The t-shirt is meant to commemorate his performance of “You Need Hands” in The Great Rock ‘N Roll Swindle. Though the formerly contraversial Englishman was best known as the former manager/publicist of the Sex Pistols and the New York Dolls, he ultimately managed to become a performer in his own right. The $70 spent on the t-shirts will all go towards associated charities of Humanade and will honor the punk icon in his own- pardon my French- fuckin’ briliant way. The shirt comes in four colors and you can get it here.

We’ve been fans of London-based Passarella Death Squad for a minute now — their superb graphic tees (such as their I Love LA or Mickey Mouse tees), their first ready-to-wear collection, and even their music is worth peeping, too. Hell we even interviewed Danny Broddle — who founded the Death Squad along with partner Emilie Albisser in 2004 — a few months back to see what made his world tick. Well now he’s back with more Disney-inspired lunacy with his “Donald” tshirt, using a 50% Cotton 50% Rayon blend imported from Japan. As usual the quality and cut is top tier, and it’s available at Coggles for $77. Looking good is rarely cheap.
