I guess Lollapalooza has been doing this online Battle of the Bands thing for the past three years and they’ll be doing it again this year. Kinda nice considering that the hardest thing to get if you’re an up and coming DJ is a good gig and an audience. Groupies too. The winner of the competition will get a chance to perform at the Chicago festival August 7-9 in Grant Park. Call me crazy but them using the word “chance” in the press release seems a bit suspect. There’s a chance my girlfriend will wake up this morning and like to swallow. But that sounds like a chain of events in an unforeseeable future.

Seriously, though, if you’re trying to get your name out there as a DJ this competition can’t hurt.  It’s hosted by Dell and if you’re one of the four finalists you’ll get a new Dell Studio Laptop. And if you’re one of the best two, you’ll get your name on the bill with Bassnectar, MSTRKRFT, Simian Mobile Disco, and more. Last Band Standing Remix, kicked off June 4.
