Here’s a video for the latest single taken from Hell’s recently released long player, Teufelswerk. You can pick it up via Gigolo. He once again (previously on “Let’s Get Ill” and “Check This,”) hooked up with P. Diddy and turned out a pretty sweet track. A little while back we brought you some news about Hell designing a line of underwear Wendy & Jim. The undies were dope and all, but those photos were hot hot hot. So steamy in fact that someone decided to give them more legs and use the shoot for this video here. And that pretty much makes this video hot as hell too. The message on the track goes out “to the motherf*cker plays a 4-minute version.” I don’t hate 4-minute tracks, but I definitely get where he’s coming from. This release will be out September 28 and includes one original track and four remixes—totally over one hour of music. The Radio Slave mix clocks in at a colossal 28 minutes on its own. So yea, “This goes out to all the motherf*ckers that like 15-20 minute versions of a mother f*cking record.”

Speaking about his collaboration Hell has said that P. Diddy “is a provocateur and he likes to do his own thing but at the same time he is a genius business guy… I was doing some music for him and like he said ‘You do something for me and I’ll do something for you.’ I’m very pleased he let me release that song and he’s even dissing the DJs on it, you know the crowd pleasers.”

One of LIAS’ favorite DJs (and producers and label heads), Berlin’s very own Shir Khan, has dropped a Clash Magazine mixtape in preparation for an upcoming Exploited Records double-disc compilation (Exploited, released on 14 September). The mix features both brand new and classic material, and some exclusive preview tracks from the upcoming comp.

“A born and bred Berliner, Shir Khan started Exploited Records in his home city in 2007, and has since remixed the likes of Evil Nine and Bonde do Role as well as producing his own material. Exploited Records now plays host to some wide-ranging and innovative electronic talent – including Adam Sky and Mowgli – and its artists have been receiving numerous supportive spins from the likes of 2ManyDJs, Boys Noize, Erol Alkan and Diplo. Accordingly, Khan’s mix for Clash – as well as the upcoming ‘Exploited’ compilation itself – is a seamless melting pot of electro-disco-krunk-tech-glitch-basement-funk that simply can’t fail to please even the most discerning ears.Highlights here are plentiful, but include a typically superb bleep-hop Modeselektor remix of a track by fellow Berliner and Boys Noize artist Siriusmo, and some ‘proper’ house (IE of the dirty, acidic variety), courtesy of innovative production/DJ duo Zoo Brazil. Not to be missed, at any cost.”

Shir Khan is a true aural epicurean, never relying on the tested club bangers but instead always seeking out the unknown tunes, or the freshest remixes of better known tracks. In a city where 85% of the population refers to themselves as “DJ”, Shir Khan is arguably the city’s top dog. (His upcoming  Exploited was already voted Compilation of the Month in DJ-Mag, Mixmag and Clashmagazine.)

Austrian designers Wendy&Jim have tapped Helmut Geier, (aka DJ Hell to his fans) to design a line of men’s underwear. Captain Gigolos is no stranger to the fashion world—guy has provided the sound track to many couture shows and even produced a mix compilation for Chanel. And that’s basically how this Wendy&Jim collaborations came together—the label featured Hell’s music during their runway show and they hit it off. And now Hell is coming at the fashion thing from a different angle—as a designer. The underwear line comes in three different styles and fabric options—pure organic cotton, lightweight mesh and lace. The line should be dropping soon at select boutiques around the world.
