Yesterday we brought you the Comme des Garcons Luxury Group Wallet Collection that hit Dover Street Market, and today it’s something else from the exclusive London boutique. Produced exclusively for Dover Street Market, Springcourt has designed this series of high top sneakers whose singular designs feature bold traditional Norwegian wool patterns. While there have been a handful of wool sneakers that have tickled my fancy over the years, the thickness and handcrafted look of these are especially eye-catching.

The inimitable fashion powerhouse label Comme des Garçons released their all new Luxury Group Wallet Collection (part of their new Fall 2010 offering), and London boutique Dover Street Market just received them. The wallets feature a new embossed premium leather and come in 6 different styles, in a variety of colorways. While our office here was split on our loyalties, the Lakers pulled off the championship and we salute them. As a tribute to the Celtics, who no one thought would even have a chance but came within 20 seconds of a title, we present the Fall 2010 Boston-Phoenix-London City Pack. Vans’ purpose for their city packs is to honor the cities who’ve had a great influence in the rise of skateboarding. What do you get when you mix one of the greatest albums of all time (and Rolling Stone‘s #1 album of the 80′s) with one of the best anime series of all time? Why, Gundam Calling of course. Sure this mobile suit may not be able to hold the bottom end down like Simonon, but I’m sure he could blast his way out of a jam pretty easily. Pick it up for $23.

A new set of 576s were just released by New Balance, more from their “Made in England” series. The 576s are arguably New Balance’s most classic design, and frankly they never go out of style. Constructed at their Flimby Factory in northern England, these limited edition shoes come in three colorways — navy above and two grey options below. Pick them up here for $235.

We’ve been fans of London-based Passarella Death Squad for a minute now — their superb graphic tees (such as their I Love LA or Mickey Mouse tees), their first ready-to-wear collection, and even their music is worth peeping, too. Hell we even interviewed Danny Broddle — who founded the Death Squad along with partner Emilie Albisser in 2004 — a few months back to see what made his world tick. Well now he’s back with more Disney-inspired lunacy with his “Donald” tshirt, using a 50% Cotton 50% Rayon blend imported from Japan. As usual the quality and cut is top tier, and it’s available at Coggles for $77. Looking good is rarely cheap.

David Choe opens his first show in Los Angeles in six years tonight, Friday, April 24th from 7-10 pm. The show title, Nothing to Declare, is apropos as David Choe leaves everything he has experienced as an artist culminated into the canvases, water colors and inflatable sculptures on the proverbial table. The show is impressive and I would advise anyone who is curious about our “generation of formidable artists” to catch a glimpse of this exhibit. The show is at Lazarides, a pop-up gallery on Beverly Drive which was formerly an Anthropologie store. The curator of the show, Lazarides himself, is the proprietor of Lazarides Gallery in London, best known for showing and being closely tied to Banksy — which puts Choe in some rarefied company. If you can’t make it tonight, find some time to swing by the gallery in the next couple weeks and take a peek.

One of the finest mass-produced scotches, Macallan has teamed up with Lalique to craft a one-of-a-kind decanter for charity. Created using the ancient cire perdue (“lost wax”) method, the decanter depicts a detailed panorama of the Macallan estate in Speyside — check out the main estate on the stopper. The bottle is based on a ship’s decanter of the 1820s, the decade in which The Macallan was founded, and will hold the oldest and rarest Macallan ever bottled: a 64-year-old vintage vatted together from three casks, all built from sherry-seasoned Spanish oak. The Macallan in Lalique Cire Perdue decanter celebrates what would be legendary crystal artisan René Lalique’s 150th birthday and will be auctioned off in New York by Sotheby’s on November 15, 2010. It is expected to fetch over $75,000, all proceeds donated to charity: water, a non-profit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. In the meantime, for the next eight months, The Macallan in Lalique: Cire Perdue Decanter will travel around the world, from Paris to New York on display, via Madrid, London, Moscow, Seoul, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Taipei, Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo. What, are Americans not interested in single-malt scotch? Why the cold shoulder? Prior to the release of this 64-year-old bottle, the previous oldest Macallan was 60 years, distilled in 1926 of which only forty bottles were ever produced. What I would give just to rub its smooth crystal belly…
