I’m not some die-hard analog audiophile here to argue on behalf of vinyl’s warm superior sound. There’s nothing wrong with having a nice CD or MP3 collection. In fact, some of the best music I have is a digital file—mostly because I haven’t found the cut on vinyl, or can’t afford it. But even those timeless tracks I have as MP3s somehow seem like disposable objects when compared to the aesthetic value of my record collection. MP3 just lack any sort of collectible value or level cachet. I hope vinyl stays around for years. I wonder about this future from time to time and it looks like I’m not along either. I just came across this series of videos on YouTube by some kid with the same thoughts running through his head. It’s broken up into 3 films. Make the jump to see parts 2 and 3.
