More animated goodness from the mind of Maurice Sendak

Available on the Where the Wild Things Are Blu-Ray and DVD — which comes out today  — is a special feature, a completely unreleased 23-minute adaptation of another of Wild Things author Maurice Sendak’s books, Higglety Pigglety Pop! Starring the voices of Meryl Streep and Forrest Whitaker, the short was directed by Maciek Szczerbowski and Chris Lavis (who also directed Madame Tutli-Putli). Wow does it look rad — I can’t tell what’s puppetry, animation or complete CGI. I had mixed feelings about Spike Jonze’s Where the Wild Things Are, but this just might motivate me to rent it and give the movie one more try…

Today, the readership of comic magazines seems to have gone down.
