Half tank, half skateboard, half broken femur

I can’t say how safe this contraption is, but Canadian company BPG Werks‘ DTV Shredder is what they claim to be the world’s first all-terrain powered skateboard. Although the term “skateboard” is quite loosely used, you do stand on a sideways plank (like a skateboard or snowboard) which is attached to 2 tank-style tracks. The DTV (Dual Track Vehicle) Shredder is powered by a 200 cc Honda 15 hp engine, which promises a 30+ mph top speed, 1200 lb capacity and 16 ft lbs torque. Although that doesn’t sound like a lot of torque, BPG Werks boasts in a video that the DTV Shredder can tow a truck (altho how long before blowing the engine is another question entirely). Acceleration and braking are controlled by a small handheld remote control, or there is also an optional carbon fiber handlebar housing the throttle control and cutoff switch — which seems a much more stable way of conquering snow, sand and trails without snapping your wrists like stale pretzels. Order yours now for only $250 down, with a final price of $4,900.
