German manufacturing duo team up for das beautiful camera

The Germans are coming! The Germans are coming! Automaker BMW is teaming up with German camera manufacturer Leica and releasing this limited edition of the 35mm X1 camera. Like the original, the X1 is equipped with an Emarit 24mm f2.8 ASPH lens and a CMOS image sensor, but this exclusive model has a retro metal casting and BMW engraved at the base. The original X1 retails for $2600, but with only 600 of these exclusive Teutonic cameras made, you’ll have to shell out $3,500.

Cameras from the inexpensive to the very pricey ones. They all take pictures – the ancients believed – would steal/capture your soul. Some cameras do it better than others. Yes, Leica X1 BMW is (German) stylized and at $3500.00 it should reveal much about ones soul.
