Renowned photographer Michel Comte’s brings his world famous images to the Leica Gallery in Prague for the limited run Not Only Women exhibit. With a career spanning 3 decades, the Swiss-born Comte has had the luck of shooting many of the most beautiful women on Earth, building a gallery of actresses, filmmakers, political personalities, supermodels and celebrities of all ilk in his portfolio. The Leica Gallery, curated by the German high end camera maker, is currently running Not Only Women only until April 3rd — a curious name considering the exhibit features iconic portraits of Penelope Cruz, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, Helena Christensen, Cindy Crawford (above), a bathing Sofia Coppola, Demi Moore, Verushka, Iman, Wallis Montana, a very naked First Lady of France Carla Bruni, Laetitia Casta, Louise Bourgeois, Catherine Deneuve, a trashed up Giselle Bündchen, Isabella Rossellini, Sharon Stone, Sophia Loren, Charlotte Rampling, Geraldine Chaplin, Sandra Bernhard, Tina Turner, Whitney Houston and more. One of his subjects, Geraldine Chaplin, said of Comte: “He is a knight errant of photography: a vagabond, an adventurer, a nomad with a camera”. I don’t know about all that, but they guy can surely capture an image — although, when you’re photographing Cindy Crawford circa 1997, you could be limbless and deliver a knockout. Would love to be in Prague right about now…
