The leaks for the upcoming Geneva Motor Show are sure to keep gearheads everywhere drooling til the show opens in all its Swiss glory at the end of the month. Add to the growing list Maserati’s new GranCabrio Sport — the successor to the standard GranCabrio, the Sport tweaks 16 more horses from its naturally-aspirated 4.7-liter V8 for a total of 450 hps. Maserati has also improved efficiency by what it’s calling their “Friction Reduction Program”, which is probably inherited from Maserati’s Godfather, Ferrari, who applied similar technology to improve the gorgeous 458 Italia’s efficiency. Besides upgraded brakes, better chassis and optimized gearshift response, the GranCabrio Sport also gets a physical makeover with more aggressive fascia and black grill, smoked headlamps and redesigned side skirts. Maserati claims a top speed of 177 mph (285 kmh) for its GranCabrio Sport.
