German luxury tuner takes their talents to two wheels

Well known for lending their luxurious (and often heinously ostentatious) touch to world class halo vehicles (Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Porsche, Rolls Royce — and who could forget their gold and carbon fiber laced Bugatti Veyron?) since 1989, German custom tuning house Mansory are dipping their diamond-tipped toes into the motorcycle game. Developed in collaboration with bike customizer Thomas M. George, their Zapico limited edition bike is riddled with carbon fiber parts — from the frame to the fuel tank to the bug spoiler — and is powered by a S&S 124 cubic inch V2 engine. The powerful two-cylinder engine delivers 160 hp to the extra-large rear tires, accelerating the large 750-lb (340 kg) bike from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds. Although steeped high in the dramatic department, I can’t say I care much for the cruiser-on-steroids looks. But then again, I don’t think subtlety is in high regard among Mansory’s clientele, so I”m sure the Zapico — which will be hand built at their factory in Bavaria — will find plenty of wealthy suitors.
