If you grew up in the 1980’s you probably wished Steven Spielberg were a family friend. Sure the man helmed such Hollywood classics as Jaws, Indiana Jones, Schindler’s List, Saving Private Ryan, etc, but it was his work crafting unbearably lovable characters in E.T. and Gremlins that made kids go bonkers. Aaah, Gremlins — who doesn’t love that 1984 horror comedy about a boy who receives a creature as a pet that spawns other creatures that transform into crazy, evil little monsters (and we aren’t talking about the Gaga kind). The tiny Gizmo, the good Mogwai among the horde of vile Gremlins, has become a part of movie history. To celebrate Gizmo’s timeless appeal, Medicom Toy’s Vinyl Collectible Dolls will release a life-size version of the fuzzy furball. Produced to the exact dimensions of the creature used on set, the 23cm-tall figure will be released next month through select retailers. And if you like what you see, check out a full list of the VCD by Medicom Toys.
