Wood Thumb, a San Francisco-based start-up, is inspired by wood. The eco-friendly company manufactures ties built from reclaimed wood. Using material culled from places like demolition projects or construction development, the team crafts each tie by hand. Though made out of recycled wood, sections of these ties are put together to make for a lightweight and flexible conversation starter. Wood Thumb makes them look like any other ties, except upon closer examination you’ll notice the unique grains of the wood, holes in each section and knots used to make their sustainable stand out project. At $34 for either a large or small option, you can at least ensure conversation at your next social gathering.
