Gotta say we’re stoked any time anything Hunter S. Thompson related hits the interwebs, so the trailer for the new film The Rum Diary is noteworthy news. The film is based on a novel Thompson wrote back in 1959, but wasn’t published until 1998, and is written and directed by the great Bruce Robinson — best known for the hilarious groundbreaking 1987 film Withnail & I (if you have not seen this movie, do yourself a favor and Netflix it ASAP). With Robinson penning the movie, there is hope this could be a classic. The Rum Diary stars Johnny Depp as journalist Paul Kemp, as well as Amber Heard, Aaron Eckhart and Giovanni Ribisi, and will be released October 28.
