Limited Edition gold-toned 50th Anniversary amp

McIntosh unveiled a refurbished gold-plated edition of its famed MC275 power amplifier at the CES show in Las Vegas. The Limited Edition 50th Anniversary version uses the original circuit — last produced in 1973 — and delivers 75W per channel in stereo operation or 150W in mono. The updates to the power amp include multicolored LED illumination of the valves to indicate the state of readiness of the amp and a new High Speed Sentry Monitor circuit allowing immediate disconnection of amp when any of the valves fail. With a $6,500 pricetag, users can expect a Power Control input and output, enabling on/off operation to be controlled by any McIntosh preamp or processor.
