Legendary Italian design house pens a timeless hybrid

Legendary Italian design house Italdesign Giugiaro — the minds behind such iconic cars as the DeLorean DMC, Lotus Esprit, Maserati Quattroporte and countless other timeless designs — unveiled their latest creation at the Geneva Motor Show currently underway. The 2+2 coupe hybrid is powered by a front-mounted 360 horsepower 3.0 liter engine augmented by an electric motor. Together the powertrain can zip the Brivido from 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in a respectable (but hardly notable) 5.8 seconds, while topping off at over 170 mph. On the gorgeous exterior the most remarkable flourishes are the massive door windows that cut well into the profile of the vehicle. As for technology, the side mirrors are replaced with a set of cameras poking out near the A-pillar. From there, a pair of screens mounted on either side of the steering wheel displays the info and tells you what’s coming at you from the sides. But that won’t bore your buxom companion — they’ll have full access to all your info (speed, distance traveled, tachometer, etc), plus full access to all your on-board entertainment via set of LCD screens behind the steering wheel and above the standard iPad dock. As it is a concept there is no price yet determined, however a little birdy promises that Italdesign Giugiaro will eventually help produce the car for its Volkswagen masters.
