The idea behind Alexander McQueen’s latest collaboration with Puma is to pluck design inspiration from a medieval battlefield. Sound crazy? Perhaps it is, but the “Joust Mid” sneakers do their best to look like armor (above), horseback (below) or a moonless night (after the Jump). These are accomplished by employing metallic leather, pony skin and a softer ‘glove’-like premium leather as the main material of the uppers. Even the rubber soles are designed to emulate the patterns of chainmail.
