Converse Japan has released two new headturning high-top styles for Fall/Winter 2012. The first, ‘Mountain Parka Hi’ (above), eschews using different textures or materials and opts instead to be inspired by (and look very similar to) a mountain parka. You you may have one that already matches the shoes in your closet. Simple colors (red, green, and black) for the upper, thin laces, and what looks like a collar at the ankle give the shoe its parka look. The other shoe, ‘M-Lace’ (below) experiments with non-traditional laces for the iconic silhouette. The ‘M-Lace’ uses tock, multicolored knit laces that not only loop through the metal eyelets, but also wrap around the ankle, where it ends. Both shoes will be released in Japan this October.
