Romy Madley-Croft, Oliver Sim & Jamie xx's sophomore album

We’ve kept close tabs on the hyperly anticipated second album from The xx, and its time has (almost) finally arrived. While you’ll have to wait till next week to purchase Coexist via iTunes or Amazon, the fine and awesome folks at NPR have set up the entire album for streaming. Yaye! We’ve previewed as much as we could, including the very visual “Chained” and “Angels” videos, but we’re thrilled to finally hear the album in its entirety. The London trio of vocalists Romy Madley-Croft and Oliver Sim and producer Jamie xx return with a very solid and beautiful second album, sophomore curse be damned. Hearing it will probably only cement your desire to purchase Coexist next Tuesday (September 11, 2012) from the very reliable XL Recordings. Do it now.

PS: Grantland had a nice feature on the dynamic that defines the sound of The xx. Give it a read if you’re a fan.
