It’s been a long time since Ghostdini, aka Ghostface Killah aka Pretty Toney, put out his debut — the all time classic Ironman (which is being re-issued) — and now he’s coming back with his tenth studio album, Twelve Reasons to Die. Produced and composed by Adrian Young, Twelve Reasons to Die is a concept album based on an eponymous comic book — a 6-book series that can also be collated in graphic novel format. This looks like it could be back to Pretty Toney in his prime, as the teaser track “The Sure Shot (Parts 1 & 2)” below hints at. Twelve Reasons to Die is executive produced by RZA and follows the adventures of Tony Stark, Ghostface’s most famous alias, as a member of a 1960’s era crime family. Expect lots of drama and Ghostface-tinged flamboyance. The duo of Ghost and Younge will also go on a 49-date tour to promote the LP, dates can be found after the Jump. Twelve Reasons To Die drops April 16th via RZA’s new Soul Temple Records — go HERE to pre-order the Limited Edition Deluxe 2CD set, which includes both the Vocal and Instrumental versions albums, plus a mini version of Issue #1 of the Twelve Reasons To Die comic. The first 500 orders will get a bonus Cassette (an alternate version of the album produced by Apollo Brown) and the full-sized issue #1 of the comic book. Really looking forward to this one.
