A return to form of sorts for MGMT. Great song, great video. Benjamin Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden are keeping it experimental on their self-titled 3rd album, and they certainly seem content on keeping their mega-hit Kids days in the rearview. Sure we’d all like to hear another “Time To Pretend”, but as long as they keep it interesting who cares. In “Cool Song No. 2”, MGMT tells the tale of Plant Hunter, a psychotropic plant drug assassin played by The Wire/Boardwalk Empire‘s Michael K. Williams who in the midst of a hit comes to the realization that… wait, what?
