Even if you’re one who values the all-terrain aspects of a 4×4, clearly you’ve never had what is basically a motor boat sitting on chrome before. The Amphicruiser, as the name describes, will transport you across the elements of the earth — its 4.2-liter Toyota Landcruiser engine giving you the regular SUV aspects of a four-wheel drive, with the additional capability of a jet-propelled engine that will go at 8 mph in full-on water. Sadly, there’s still no James-Bond-Bruce-Wayne button on the console that will make this bad boy sprout wings or plant gravity on the moon, so we as a species still have a long way to go. But hey, at least it’s a start. Get 4WD + water for $250,000.
