As of July 26th and continuing on until August 3rd, the Vans US Open of Surfing has hit the shores of Huntington Beach, where every surfer and sponsor is either hitting waves or flossing their goods. Fiat has joined the slew of brands on board with this surf-inspired version of their sporty little 500L utility vehicle, heavily loaded with classic Vans motifs. With a dashboard decked in Vans stickers, a two-board surf rack up top, canvas palm-tree patterned seats and the iconic Vans waffle-sole pattern on storage bins and foot pedals, the Fiat “Vans U.S. Open of Surfing” Concept car closely follows the Vans surfer aesthetic. Other features of the basic 500L include a 4-cylinder, turbocharged MultiAir engine and a six-speed manual transmission on the five-door compact car.
