We don’t usually cover TVs, but this one’s kind of special. Today LG announced the world’s first full-LED 3D HDTV, the LX9500. But not only is it full LED and 3D, it also measures in at a skeletal 22.3mm thick. The new LED-backlit set will offer full 1080p resolution, a 400Hz refresh rate and a 10,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. The crazy thing is this isn’t a pie-in-the-sky concept or tease, the LX9500 47″ model will go on sale in a week in Korea for about $4,100 (4.7 million Won), with a 55″ version available in the US sometime in May. Seeing as IMAX is charging upwards of $20 for a 3D ticket, this thing could pay itself off by the time blockbuster season passes this summer…
