Maserati unveiled its highest performing vehicle ever, the MC Stradale, at the Paris Auto Show and sent the auto world into a tizzy. As manufacturers are scrambling to make their vehicles more efficient and eco-conscious, Maserati is clearly taking aim inteh othe rdirection and putting an emphasis on performance. Always a force in luxury, as of late the Trident’s forays into performance have been, well, shakey. No more. The Maserati Corsa (MC, “racing”) Stradale is a 450 horsepower GranTurismo racer with a 0-62 mph time of 4.6 seconds, and a 186 mph (301 kph) top speed. The 4.7-liter V8 makes generates a healthy 376 ft-lbs of torque, but much of its performance is due to the vehicle dropping 243 lbs of curb weight, sneaking in just under 4,000 lbs (3,902, to be exact). Maserati promises big improvements on handling, and have upgraded the transmission with shift times reduced to just 60 milliseconds. But enough about numbers and static pictures — you wanna see the car in action. You’re in luck — today Maserati released the video of its 2011 GranTurismo MC Stradale in action…press play, listen to the exhaust note, and weep like a newborn Bambi that just lost its mama…
