One of the most nostalgic race cars of all time, the Maserati 8CTF claimed two victories at the Indianapolis 500 in 1939 and 1940. Since then the car has been fantasized about by motor sport lovers across the globe, and although you may never get in the driver’s seat of the 8CTF, there is now a bike designed to match its elegance. Premier Italian Bike company Montante Cicli has just designed a race bike as an homage to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the 8CTF’s Indianapolis win. Painted in the same dark wine color as the original Maserati, chrome handles and pedals are added to lend it a luxurious, sleek look. And it doesn’t end there: matching leather seats, handle bars and pedal loops are all covered in the same rich red leather used for the driver’s seat in the winning 1940s race car. The Maserati logo on the frame finishes off the great detail of the bike. Known for the outstanding designs in Italy since 1920, there’s no better bicycle manufacturer then Montante Cicli to slim a classic beauty from four wheels down to two. With a limited number of 200 bikes available — each custom inscribed to each individual customer — and a $3,900 (2,800 euros) pricetag, chances are you’ll only be able to dream about it at night…just like people once did with the original Maserati.
