Glien Friedman, accomplished, respected and otherwise bomb-ass photographer of all things skate, hip-hop, punk and otherwise cool as hell, has found a hardcover casing to commemorate his work by way of Rizzoli publishing. That is, of course, in addition to the countless periodicals, magazines, fanzines and museum walls which have displayed his work. Being the photographer to document pioneers in counter culture such as Tony Alva, Stacy Peralta, Black Flag, the Dead Kennedys, Run DMC and the Beastie Boys, he has more than earned his way into this 13″ x 11.5″ hardcover monograph (we have a personal soft spot for that Beasties shot in front of the chain link fence, as it presided over many a bong hit in college). The book contains, among other things, larger print versions of photos from the famed and out-of-print projects past such as Fuck You Heroes and Fuck You Too, about 100 never-seen-before shots, and written cameo visits from music legends such as Henry Rollins, Ian Mackaye, Rick Rubin and Shepard Fairey. A must-have for any photo-book collector — pick it up for $55.
