There’s something supremely sexy about this chair. Somehow Per Emanuelsson and Bastian Bischoff, the two brains behind this exquisite piece (sin?) have made a crucifix inspired lounger look totally practical, relaxing and comfortable. Now I’m no theology scholar, but that seems a bit ironic given the whole history of this particular symbol. If I were a “believing” man I’d probably be going to hell for lusting after such a sacred icon. Luckily I’m not (mainly because of beliefs, rituals and science), so worries there. That could be why I like it so damn much…it’s like a more refined Buddy Jesus. A comtemporary piece for the hi-brow furniture crowd. Could this be the second chapter in the “Catholicism WOW!” campaign? Either way, these two guys flexed some serious carpentry skills.
