I’m a sucker for collectible vinyl, African music and the general feeling of summer. Green Owl kinda rolled it all up into one with this one. The Very Best (aka Malawian singer Esau Mwamwaya and the Radioclit duo) are releasing a limited edition 7” for “Warm Heart of Africa”—featuring guest appearances from M.I.A and Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend. That’s the A side, the B side is “Yalira” a previously unreleased song. Check it out here. The cover art is an exclusive commission from painter BP Konan of the Ivory Coast and is printed in Brooklyn with vegetable-based ink using wind power on 100% postconsumer paper.
