Loving the amount of dope stuff being pumped out by Kouichi Okamoto recently. His love for using unusual materials to create even more unusual items grabs the eye and kind of gently squeezes it until you just give in and want to buy everything. His Glass Tank, Umbrella Tank and Water Clock are prime examples of the kind of kitsch aesthetic you don’t normally find in Shizuoka City unless of course you are breaking into Okamotos workshop.
Endless Rain Record

A record that endlessly plays rain sounds and the sound of rain drops …just as the title suggests. The grooves in the record form a circle. 1 side is dedicated to rain, the other side to drops.
Water Clock

A ceramic bowl, a plate, two little balls with magnets and bam, you’ve got yourself 1 very unique time telling machine. The balls that float on the water display time.
Glass Tank
This is our kinda glass…one that’s made to hold a lot of juice. When the amount in the glass decreases, a constant amount is poured from the tank into the glass. And it never overflows from the glass because of air pressure and water pressure.
Umbrella Pot

The umbrella pot allows rainwater from your umbrella to drain into the plant pot via little internal holes. Seems like a great, low-maintenance way to keep a small plant.
Kyouei Design T-Shirt

Polyurethane resin and acrylic resin were used to make this tee design. The designer made each t-shirt by drawing, dispersing, throwing and rubbing the material by hand—one by one. So that makes each design a one-off. That, and the fact, that each shirt has a unique serial number in the tag.
