Now that we’ve reached 2010, it’s become obvious the days of instant cameras are long behind us. Nowadays the cameras we usually see are insanely high-tech, overly complicated, easily manipulated robots that produce thousands upon thousands of pristine images, all working to place a sort of plastic sheen over the real world. Ok, I’ll admit I may be a little biased toward the film era and the Polaroids of the past, but, hey, it’s good to know your roots. The Polaroid SX-70 is just a little piece of our history that Impossible Cameras is offering up to the first bidder. These cameras have been collected and refurbished in order to work like new, but still have that used, vintage vibe to them, leaving you with nostalgic photos that look like a time capsule from the past. They are very rare, limited edition reproductions and come with a 1-year warranty for “what if” purposes. The camera itself has both a auto and manual focus option, adjustable shutter and aperture settings, and works with SX-70 Polaroid integral print film and converted 600 film. They’re special edition designs from Paul Giambarba and are selling for $270 at Impossible.
